First impression reminds me of NY with less people - just a bit early. The room did fill up nicely though and the ambiance is that usual "bobo-chic". The restaurant is a long room with comfortable seating (more so for those on the benches - my fav spot).
As my husband guessed it (his being French and all), the name is a play on a French expression that I will not define - but you can search for it "Baisenville".
You get the impression that young restauranteurs have spent time in NYC- very slick design and an open kitchen. There is a restaurant I used to frequent in Brooklyn that looks a lot like this.

Armed with only my iPhone I took some photos so I could share this place with you all.
The food was consistent except perhaps the confit carrot dessert that was not our favorite. The menu is tapas-style but with portions a little larger than your usual tapas and a menu of some revisited French classics. This is referred to as la racion (a small Spanish dish served either cold or hot). They were kind enough to provide us with a "mode d'emploie" (user manual), so we could make our selections. Basically you compose your own meal by selecting several raciones. They recommended taking 3 savory raciones + 1 sweet.

Filet de porc basque, polenta, caramel d'orange
Ceviche de Mulet noir, pêche, orange
We pretty much tried everything on the menu except the duck and the côte de boeuf - the benefits of going there with 3 other people. We were not extremely hungry so this was the perfect sharing experience.
Mousseline au Chocolat, menthe poivrée
Fondant à la pate d'amandes, framboises, crême
Carrottes confites, gingembre, praliné
Would I return - very very possible. Would I recommend - yes. And it's located just down from Elegant Condorcet
