Seeing as how I live very close at the moment to the Marché aux Puces in St Ouen, you'd think I would have explored it over and over again. The honest truth is that though I have been maybe 2-3 times, I soon discovered how little of it I had actually seen.
Promoting something that I know nothing about isn't quite my cup of tea so anytime I find a new service, tour or what have you that I may consider recommending to friends, guests and family, I just have to try it out myself to get a sense of what it's like first hand. So it was with this mission in mind that I asked Toma Haines of Antiques Diva & Co® to set my husband and I up with an antiques tour at one of the most well-known markets in Paris.
The Marché aux Puces in St Ouen really gets heated up on the weekend and our Sunday tour though not under blue skies was both enriching and eye-opening. Our guide, Kim Poulin, an American expat originally from Chicago but 100% Parisian (as Toma put it), is an interior designer who will walk the flea markets in stilettos - and I believe it too! is polyvalent as they say in French, a lady of many hats and a woman with an eye for style and antiques.

This place is huge and I am so glad that I took a tour that will later help me go back again and re-explore though honestly I may need the Divas' assistance once again. There was just so much to see and buy. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
It was a great experience and even my husband who I was sure was going to be utterly bored, enjoyed the visit. We ended up at a cafe called Le Roi du Cafe at Kim's recommendation and I had a lovely lunch. All in all a great Sunday afternoon.
